Your favorite simple, fluffy french toast filled with cream cheese and strawberries to take breakfast to the next level.
First whisk the egg in a medium size bowl until smooth. Then whisk in the remaining custard ingredients until combined.
In a separate bowl mix the filling ingredients until well incorporated.
Fold the diced strawberries into the cream cheese mixture.
Spread half of the filling on one slice of brioche, and top with another slice to form a sandwich. Repeat for the remaining bread and filling. Set aside.
Preheat the pan to 350°F/176°C (medium) and add the butter. Allow to melt completely.
Quickly dip each side of the stuffed french toast in the custard to lightly coat. Then place both in the pan. Cook the first side for 7 minutes.
Use a spatula to carefully flip both french toast sandwiches. Continue cooking for 7 minutes on the second side.
Transfer the cooked french toast to a tray or plate. Repeat this process to cook all of the remaining stuffed french toast. You can hold the french toast in the oven at the lowest temperature to keep warm until ready to serve.
Serve with powdered sugar, maple syrup or your favorite toppings.
