Honey Sesame Portobellos and Green Beans

This fast and tasty Asian inspired side dish combines portobello mushrooms and green beans, which are seasoned with sesame seed, honey and soy sauce for a flavor packed side dish or the perfect garnish for a rice bowl.

Season the Mushrooms and Green Beans

Combine the following ingreidents in a mixing bowl and set aside.

  • Portobello Mushrooms(thinly sliced)2
  • Green Beans(cleaned and cut)1 cup
  • Fresh Ginger(finely chopped)1 tsp.
  • Garlic Clove(finely chopped)1
  • Sesame Oil2 Tbsps.
  • Kosher Salt½ tsp.

Measure and Combine the Honey and Soy Sauce

Mix both ingredients in a small bowl and set aside.

1. Add the Oil While Preheating the Pan

Add the oil and set the pan at 425°F/ 220°C (high).

2. Add and Cook the Mushrooms and Beans

Add the seasoned vegetables and cook for 7 to 8 minutes or until the mushrooms look caramelized and the green beans are cooked but still crunchy.

3. Remove and Finish the Mushrooms and Green Beans

Turn off the heat and transfer the vegetables to a serving bowl. Drizzle with the soy and honey sauce and enjoy while warm. If desired, garnish with toasted sesame seeds.
