1. Add the Oil While Preheating the Pot

Add the oil then set the burner to Power 5 (medium). Once a thermometer in the oil reads 325°F/165°C, switch to Temperature Control and set the temperature to 365°F/185°C. 2. Season the Flour for the Shallots

While the oil preheats, mix the dry ingredients until fully combined.

Using a fine mesh strainer, shake any excess flour off the shallot rings.

5. Fry the Shallot Rings

Add enough shallots without overcrowding the pot. Fry for 3- 4 minutes or until golden brown, stirring occasionally with a slotted spoon. While they fry, prepare a plate or tray with paper towels and set aside.

Transfer to a paper towel lined plate. Continue frying the extra shallot rings, then turn off the heat.
