A childhood favorite with a grownup twist. We added ginger, hoisin, and soy sauce to create a quick and delicious Asian inspired dish for any weeknight. For a healthy alternative, try it with ground turkey or ground chicken instead.
Mix all the ingredients into a bowl and set aside.
Add the oil then preheat the pan to 300°F/ 150°C (medium- low).
Cook the ground pork for 3 minutes while braking it down into small pieces or until the meat looks opaque and almost fully cooked.
Cook the filling for 4 minutes or until the sauce has created a thick glaze around the meat.
Turn off the heat and fill the burger buns with the Sloppy Joe filling. Top with shredded cabbage for a good crunch and cilantro leaves. This versatile filling can also be used in simple rice bowls.
